What spline steering wheel boss do I need for my Defender?

36 Spline – Suitable for Pre 1993 Defenders (early Land Rovers had 4 spoke steering wheels which were 36 spline). Also suitable for County and XS spec vehicles from 1998-2008.
48 Spline – All Defenders from 1993-2014 except for county and XS spec vehicles from 1998 to 2008.
2015 Model year- Defenders from September 2014- end of production (2016). 15MY Defenders have stability control which can be identified by having a ‘traction’ switch on your dash facia.

Boss options:
Standard boss- This is our standard boss which is 50mm deep and is a great value for money option and does what it says on the tin.
LUCARI® 32mm Slimline- Machined from billet aluminium and only 32mm in depth which results in additional space for the driver as well as easier access to the indicator stalks. Momo steering wheel centre caps are not compatible with this boss due to how it has been manufactured to make it as slim as possible, so it is supplied with a LUCARI® centre cap.
LUCARI® 42mm Slimline Quick Release- Machined from billet aluminium and an overall depth of only 42mm including the removable attachment so no need for an additional boss kit. These provide a good level of extra security by being able to remove your steering wheel while parked. Momo steering wheel centre caps are not compatible with this boss due to how it has been manufactured to make it as slim as possible, so it is supplied with a LUCARI® centre cap. Please understand that it is designed to be removable and under no circumstances should the two locking pins be pulled while the vehicle is being driven. We do not accept any liability for this product being used incorrectly.
